App privacy policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This notice explains how Pocket Imposter handles information in its iOS and Android game. It covers pass-and-play, local multiplayer, optional purchases and advertising. The promotional website has a separate website privacy notice.
Who provides the game
Pocket Imposter is provided by Tomhmagic Creations LTD. We are responsible for the personal information we process to provide and support the game.
For privacy questions, support or requests about your information, email [email protected].
Postal address: Suite 7, Second Floor, Bridge House, Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot, United Kingdom, TQ12 2QS.
Gameplay and information on your device
You do not need to create a game account. The app saves player names, chosen avatars, game settings, sound preferences and your custom word packs on your device. You can use nicknames instead of real names. Avoid entering sensitive information in names, clues or your custom word packs.
In pass-and-play, players share one device. In local multiplayer, participating devices exchange player and game information over the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot. This includes names, avatars, submitted clues and other information needed to run the game. Other players can see information shared during play. The game does not use a developer-operated internet game server.
Device permissions
Local-network access is used to discover, host and join nearby games. Camera access is optional and is used to scan a room QR code. Camera images are not uploaded to us. You can change permissions in your device settings.
Purchases and restoration
Optional one-time Pro purchases are processed through Apple or Google. RevenueCat helps us verify purchases, restore access and manage unlocks. This involves an app user identifier, purchase and transaction records, and technical information needed to operate the purchase service. We do not receive your payment-card details.
The app displays a Support ID generated by RevenueCat. If you send it to us, we can use it to investigate a purchase or grant a promotional unlock. See RevenueCat's privacy policy, Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
Advertising and privacy choices
The free game can display ads supplied by Google AdMob. The app requests non-personalised ads. This does not mean that no data is processed: advertising services can use IP addresses, device identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and maintain the service.
Where applicable, a consent message lets you accept, refuse or manage choices before ads are requested. You can revisit the available choices through Ad privacy choices in the game's shop. Withdrawing consent affects future processing and does not change the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Pro players are not shown ads.
More information is available in Google's explanation of data use by partner apps.
Why information is processed
We use information to provide gameplay, deliver and restore purchased features, respond to support requests and keep services secure. Where UK or EEA data-protection law applies, the relevant basis can be performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in providing support and preventing misuse, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required for advertising and device storage.
Sharing and international processing
Game information is shared with devices participating in a local game. Purchase and advertising providers process information needed for their services. If you contact us, we process the details you choose to send. Providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK or EEA. Their privacy information explains the applicable processing arrangements and safeguards.
Keeping and deleting information
Saved preferences, players and your custom word packs remain on your device until changed or removed, or until app data is cleared. Device backups may retain copies. Clearing app data does not delete store transaction records or automatically remove records held by purchase or advertising providers.
Purchase records may need to remain available to restore permanent unlocks, handle refunds and meet legal obligations. Support information is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and any related obligations. Retention by service providers depends on the type of data and their policies.
Your rights
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, obtain a portable copy, restrict processing or object to it. To help identify purchase records, provide your Support ID rather than your Apple or Google password. You can complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK's Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of purchases and shared game content. If you believe a child has supplied personal information that should be removed, contact us so we can investigate.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the game or its services change. The date above identifies the current version.
